Meet the Governors

Georgia Burrows
Chair of Governors

I am currently the Head of Strategic Operations for a federation of special schools and an adult day care centre in Lincoln. I was previously the Clerk to Governors for Tetney and have nearly 20 years' experience of working in schools in various positions. Prior to this I worked in industry as a Production Support Chemist and a Pharmaceutical Chemist.

I moved to Lincolnshire in 2005 with my family and live in a small village not far from Tetney. Outside of work, I am a mum of 4 daughters and when I can find time I like to read, cross stitch and crochet.

Tom Newling
Headteacher

I am the Head Teacher at Tetney Primary school. I have been in post since April 2026.

I am an experienced school leader with over 15 years spent leading in schools in a variety of different capacities. Tetney is my first Headship and I am extremely proud to be able to serve the local community and the school.

I live in Market rasen with my family, having moved to Lincolnshire from Sussex in 2021.

Emma Scrivens
Parent Governor

We moved to the village 2 years ago and I find Tetney a lovely place to live. My son started in Reception at Tetney Primary School this year and I wanted to become a governor to support the school to ensure the children thrive here throughout there school life and beyond.

Since leaving university in 2002 where I studied Geography and English, I have worked in financial services; my role for the last 8 years has been as financial adviser, working predominately in retirement planning. I am currently working towards chartered status so I am still studying, even now!

I feel passionately that the school environment should be a safe and supportive one that helps each and every child to achieve their full potential.

Jack Williamson
Co-opted Governor

I am currently Associate Principal at Springwell Alternative Academy in Mablethorpe and have been teaching since 2011. In the last 14 years of education, I have been able to develop my understanding of pedagogy, teaching & learning, inclusion and safeguarding. I believe education is vital for young people to get the very best chances in life and it starts at primary level.

Outside of education, I am interested in sport and the outdoors including; skiing, hiking, camping and running (to name a few) and not forgetting walking my Sprocker Spaniel Pepper!

Emma Hobson
Staff Governor

I am the Bursar here at Tetney and have worked here since 2021. I grew up in the village and attended Tetney school so it's lovely to be back again as an adult! I love being part of Team Tetney and have been elected to represent the staff on the governing board.

Prior to my current role, I worked in a high street bank as a Customer Services Manager before taking time out to have my children. I live in Grimsby with my husband and our two children and enjoy walks along the seafront.
