Skipping Leadership Initiative
Cedar Class wanted to improve the lunchtime activities, so after discussion with the children in the school it was agreed that skipping would be organised.
Firstly an action plan was designed to clearly show how the skipping would improve lunchtimes as well as fitness. As children needed to purchase ropes they needed to use their persuasive skills to convince our Chair of Governors to cover the costs. We also signed up to the British Heart Foundation and have agreed to hold a sponsored skipping event to raise money after being given a large selection of ropes at no cost.
Mrs Johnson taught us all many skipping tricks with single rope, long rope and two ropes (Double Dutch). Not only did the children learn the tricks, they also learnt how to teach them to beginner/experienced skippers.
